Housecleaning

A few things I keep forgetting to mention:

1. Tonight (Wednesday), Ben Greenman will be reading and signing his new book Please Step Back at Book Soup at 7pm. I did a panel with Ben at the book festival this past weekend and really enjoyed talking with him. I also quite liked his collection of stories Superbad when it came out a few years ago, and if I wasn't having weird dreams about Abagail Freemantle, why, I'd drive right in to see him at Book Soup, too.

2. I've read two really great books this month that I've been telling everyone about, likely to the point of exhaustion: Once the Shore by Paul Yoon and Columbine by Dave Cullen.  It's only April, nearly May, but I'm ready to proclaim them 2 of the best of the year.

3. Good things, good people: My friend Mary Yukari Waters new book, The Favorites, comes out in June, but you can pre-order it now. For those of you waiting for a follow-up the The Laws Of Evening, you will not be disappointed. There's a nice big excerpt on the S&S site now, too.
