If I actually lived in LA and not the desert -- yeah, yeah, I know, it's all one big metropolitan area and what's 132 miles for something you really want? -- I'd be heading out to see the latest installment of Evil Genius Jim Ruland's Vermin On The Mount this Sunday night:
In case you can't read the small print aside Captain Crunch there, the guests are the most excellent Chris Abani, the even more excellent (though, uh, yeah, I don't know who these next two people are, so, yeah, it's hard not to say they are excellent, because what if they are and I just don't know it? So we're going with excellent) Teka-Lark Lo and Carole Novack. And, in a rare public performance, particularly for someone who knows me, and thus, it would seem, would be all about the grandiose self promotion and general flaunting of words, talents, etc, the charming, ebullient, mysterious, ambidextrous, first-woman-to-dunk-a-basketball-in-the-state-of-Oregon Karen Palmer. If you don't know Karen, yo, you better recognize.
